Taipei, Feb. 17 (CNA) Taiwanese golfer Hsu Wei-ling finished in third place at the 2019 ISPS Handa Women's Australian Open Sunday with a four-round 12-under par 276.

Hsu shot five birdies and a bogey to finish with a four-under par 68 for the final round Sunday.

However, Nelly Korda of the United States posted a five-under par 67 in perfect conditions in the final round to win the title with a 17-under par 271.

Hsu and Sweden's Madelene Sagstrom shared the lead for the first two days of the event Friday.

The 24-year-old Taiwanese player maintained her overnight advantage from the first day into day two, with a fine round of 69 to finish the day on 10-under par. The world No. 69 hit just one bogey in the first two days of action.

However, in the third round Saturday, Hsu carded a two-over par 74, finishing the day in third place.

Hsu's best career best finish was second at the 2018 Pure Silk-Bahamas LPGA classic, two strokes behind champion Brittany Lincicome.

The Women's Australian Open had a purse of some US$1.3 million.
