Taipei, March 21 (CNA) The 2019 Fulong International Sand Sculpture Art Festival in northern Taiwan is likely to create a Guinness World Record this year for the most people building sand sculptures in a single day, according to the organizers.

Some 25 sculptor artist from seven countries have been invited to participate and about 300 other people are expected to join in making dolphin sculptures on June 15, which will create a world record, the organizers said.

In addition to the 300 dolphin sculptures, there will be about 65 other sand sculptures at the festival, 45 of which will be made by the sculptor artists in reflection of the festival's theme, which is related to the fictional island of Atlantis, the organizers said.

The sculptures will also portray elements of marine conservation, appealing to visitors to help protect the ocean, the organizers said.

The annual Fulong International Sand Sculpture Art Festival will be held April 19 to Aug. 25 in New Taipei.
