Taipei, April 24 (CNA) Republic of China (Taiwan) Minister of Foreign Affairs Joseph Wu is to visit eSwatini, one of the country's diplomatic allies, to celebrate its king's 51st birthday, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA).
Wu, as an envoy to President Tsai Ing-wen, will lead a delegation of five people to the African kingdom April 24-28, to celebrate King Mswati III's birthday, according to MOFA.
Wu will present the king with three cows -- customary gifts in the African kingdom for such an occasion -- along with a hand-written congratulatory letter written by Tsai.
While in eSwatini, Wu is scheduled to meet with the king, Queen Mother Ntombi Tfwala, and hold talks with the kingdom's foreign minister Thulisile Dladla to discuss future bilateral cooperation projects, MOFA said.
Wu and Dladla are also scheduled to sign a memorandum of understanding to promote women's economic empowerment in the African kingdom, it added.
Taiwan and its only remaining African diplomatic ally, eSwatinti, formerly known as Swaziland, established official relations in 1968.
