London, July 14 (CNA) Taiwanese tennis star Hsieh Su-wei  lifted the trophy for the women's doubles title at Wimbledon Sunday, while her compatriot Latisha Chan  won in the mixed doubles competition.

In the women's doubles final, Hsieh and Barbora Strycova of the Czech Republic defeated Chinese Xu Yifan  and Canadian Gabriela Dabrowski 6-2, 6-4 in a game that lasted 66 minutes on Centre Court.

The win gave Strycova her first Grand Slam title but was the second for Hsieh, who had also lifted the trophy, along with Peng Shuai  of China, in 2013 for the women's doubles title at Wimbledon.

Meanwhile, in an unforgettable day for the Taiwanese players, Chan and her Croatian partner Ivan Dodig secured the mixed doubles title on Sunday.
The pair crushed Robert Lindstedt of Sweden and Jelena Ostapenko of Latvia 6-2, 6-3 against in 70 minutes on No. 1 Court.

After the match, Chan said she and Dodig had teamed up for the first time last year.

When he approached her in March 2018, she said, she was not sure if she could compete in the French Open because she had just suffered an injury.

Dodig, however, had confidence in her, and they won the French Open in 2018 and 2019, Chan said.

She said she will continue to team up with Dodig as they have great chemistry on court.
