Taipei, Nov. 28 (CNA) The first rays of sunlight of 2021 that can be observed in Taiwan will be visible from high altitudes in Hualien, eastern Taiwan, the Taipei Astronomical Museum said on Friday.
The sun will strike at 6:03 a.m. on the county's Ponan Mountain, (柏南山), while in low-lying areas, the first dawn of the year will be visible at 6:07 a.m. at Dragon Head Rock on Orchid Island off Taiwan's southeastern coast, the museum said.
In low-lying areas in Taiwan proper, the best choice for seeing the first dawn of the year will be Sanxiantai in Taitung County, where the sunrise is forecast for 6:10 a.m., according to the museum.
The museum has developed an interactive map so that people who wish to catch a glimpse of the first rays of sun in their respective areas can plan accordingly by looking up the information online at https://pse.is/39s2wz
