Taipei, Jan. 21 (CNA) Taiwan's Lee Yang (李洋) and Wang Chi-lin (王齊麟) snatched an easy victory to advance into the men's doubles quarterfinals at the Toyota Thailand Open on Thursday.
The world No. 7 Taiwanese duo beat Jason Anthony Ho-Shue and Nyi Yakura of Canada 21-15, 21-5 in a match that lasted just 25 minutes.
Despite starting slow, Lee and Wang managed to recover from a four-point deficit in the first game to draw even at 10-10, before taking the lead and never looking back, winning the game 21-15.
In the second game, the Taiwanese pairing played more aggressively, allowing their opponents only five points and running away with the game 21-5, for a two games to nil scoreline
They will now face Mark Lamsfuss and Marvin Seidel of Germany on Friday.
Meanwhile, Taiwan's Chou Tien-chen (周天成), currently ranked world No. 2, will face Taiwanese counterpart Wang Tzu-wei (王子維) in the men's singles quarterfinals, also on Friday.
The Toyota Thailand Open, which has a total purse of US$1 million, is the second of three events being held by the Badminton World Federation (BWF) in Bangkok and will be followed by the 2020 World Tour Finals from Jan. 27-31.
