Taipei, Jan. 22 (CNA) A staff member at Taiwan's representative office in Malaysia has tested positive for COVID-19, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) said Friday.
The employee received a positive COVID-19 on Thursday and is now in home quarantine, the ministry said.
Two other staff members at the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Malaysia, who came into contact with the infected employee, were also tested, and their results were negative, MOFA said.
Meanwhile, the office is being disinfected as a precautionary measure, and it will continue to operate as usual, providing services every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, when the disinfection process is completed, MOFA said.
According to World Health Organization statistics, Malaysia has reported 167,379 COVID-19 cases and 630 deaths to date.
