The 16-floor new office, located in Taipei Far Eastern Telecom Park (Tpark), is equipped with a Global Security and Resilience Services team and a product showroom, Google said.
At its product showroom, visitors will be able to experience the advantages of integrating the company's hardware and software and its advanced artificial intelligence technology, the company said.
Aiming to become an employee friendly venue, Google said, the Banqiao office has an open area design, a gym, massage room, nap room, and a dining area where professional baristas make coffee for employees.
In addition, the office has a health center, where medical staff provide employees with physical and mental health consulting services, Google said.
Google Vice President of Hardware Elmer Peng told reporters that the company is grateful for Taiwan's efforts in COVID-19 prevention and the government's support of the company's presence.
These factors help pave the way for the opening of the new Banqiao office as scheduled, he said.
Google Taiwan was set up in 2006 and celebrates its 15th anniversary this year.
In 2018, Google spent US$1.1 billion to acquire Taiwan-based smartphone brand HTC Inc's ODM manufacturing assets, which previously rolled out the Pixel smartphone line for the U.S. client.
Under the deal, HTC transferred its 2,000 HTC engineers to work for the U.S. tech giant and as a result, the team has continued to produce the Pixel for Google.
After the acquisition, Google said, Taiwan has become one of its most important R&D centers in Asia.
Peng said Taiwan is one of the most important locations in the world where Google implements its global development strategies.
As such, he went on, the company's team in the country has been highly involved or even played a key role in developing such major products as Pixel smartphones, the Nest smart speaker, Chromebook notebook computers, Chromecast streaming media players and wearable devices.
The number of Google employees in Taiwan has risen 10-fold over the past five years and so more space was needed to grow further, the company said, and it will continue to expand its workforce in Taiwan and launch a program for female employees to develop their careers.
Asked about Google's recruitment campaign in Taiwan, Peng said the company is determined to develop deeper roots in the country through further expansion. He urged talent at home and abroad to join them.
The tech giant is planning to add another office in TPark in 2023, according to Google.
