Taipei, May 17 (CNA) The alcohol-based hand sanitizer produced by state-owned Taiwan Tobacco and Liquor Corp. (TTL) is being made widely available in retail stores starting Monday, but customers will be limited to three bottles per purchase, according to the the Ministry of Finance (MOF).

The sanitizer, available in 300ml bottles, will soon be sold at 15,000 locations, including those operated by TTL, Carrefour, Funcom Supermarket, PX Mart and the four major convenience store chains -- 7-Eleven, FamilyMart, Hi-Life and OK Mart.

According to the MOF, the state-run company is currently able to produce 96,000 bottles of the 75-percent alcohol sanitizers per day, but could boost that daily output to 200,000 bottles within two weeks.

The ministry, meanwhile, urged people not to panic-buy the product if they already had a supply at home so that those who really need it can have access to it.
